Job Description
My client’s buildings team is looking for a Lead, someone who has a network of work and able to continue to grow it. This team is unique in that they have a diverse background, which allows them to be involved in a wide range of markets. They love to take on new challenges in varying regions with vast construction types.
Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering; registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with APEGA
Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic growth and development of the Calgary Buildings practice.
- Support the expansion of multidisciplinary engineering services.
- Provide leadership, senior oversight, and/or directly contribute to the electrical design of commercial, institutional, healthcare, transportation, educational, and industrial facilities.
- Lead and contribute to business development initiatives by identifying new opportunities, building client relationships, and pursuing major projects.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and represent the firm at industry events, meetings, and project pursuits.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful projects.
- Support project performance, staffing, resource planning, and operational excellence alongside project managers and technical leaders.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of design standards, tools, workflows, and best practices.
- Champion a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and exceptional client service.
Requirements:
- 15+ years of experience in electrical engineering building services.
- Demonstrated experience leading projects, teams, and client relationships within a consulting engineering environment.
- Strong business development skills with a proven ability to establish and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Experience managing commercial, institutional, educational, civic, healthcare, transportation, and industrial building projects.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong understanding of the Calgary and Alberta buildings consulting market.
- Demonstrated commitment to client service and technical excellence.
This position is located in Calgary, AB Canada and can be a shareholder type role.
