My client is a leading North American engineering firm focused on telecommunications. They are innovative, creative and collaborative. Including but not limited to; site design, project management, structural building design, structural building repairs, condition assessment reports, insurance. legal claim support etc. As the Lead Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Responsibilities:

• Creating plans, design, computer analysis, checking drawing reviews and calculations using engineering formulas and skills for design in accordance with established codes, standards, drawings, or other specifications;
• Analyzing applicable reports, drawings, blueprints, tests, and related documentation to plan and design projects;
• Using computer-assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering and design documents and calculations;
• Conducting initial site reviews relating to building evaluations as well as structural observations during and post construction; and,
• Reviewing shop drawings, contractor requests and RFI’s.

Education:

• Degree in Civil Engineering; Structural specialty with P.Eng. status with EGBC.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 10 years’ structural design experience in concrete, wood and structural steel;
• A working knowledge of the BC Building Code;
• Telecommunications engineering experience and tower design are an asset;
• Civil Engineering design experience beneficial;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Ability to accurately read and interpret drawing plans;
• Experience in evaluating existing building structures
