As the Team Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in overseeing project execution, fostering team development, and maintaining stakeholder relationships. Your responsibilities include:
- Guiding team members and ensuring project efficiency
- Spearhead the growth and development of the engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members.
- Ability to receive constructive feedback and implement change to improve company efficiency.
- Participate in the design, development, and delivery of application engineering projects.
- Stay updated on industry knowledge, technology trends, and market needs.
- Contribute to research and development efforts on new products or projects, analyzing problems and designing solutions.
- Provide innovative solutions in updating and improving existing product lines.

- Direct seamless project execution, offering support, and proactively addressing potential obstacles to ensure timely completion.
- Monitor project compliance with industry codes and standards, ensuring adherence to performance benchmarks.
- Ensure adherence to industry testing, design codes, and practices, conducting quality control checks throughout all project stages.
- Analyze data, write reports, and double-check documents/design literature to maintain project integrity.
- Facilitate collaboration between departments, promote innovation, and streamline decision-making processes.
- Cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders through transparent communication, conflict resolution, and solicitation of feedback for continuous improvement.
- Ability to adapt to regional communication styles and working paces in both public and private sectors.
- Champion a positive work culture, encourage continuous improvement and serve as a liaison between the team and management.
- Ideal candidates are experienced leaders with strong communication skills, a strategic mindset, and a passion for driving team success.
- Collaborate in the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of training materials. Present complex technical concepts in an understandable manner.
- Oversee and ensure all those on the engineering teams are adhering to provincial engineering best practices as defined by the relevant governing associations.
In essence, you will serve as a pivotal leader driving the engineering teams towards excellence, ensuring project success, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Requirements:
- A degree or diploma in civil, construction, building, mechanical or wood engineering, or equivalent work experience. A primarily wood engineering background is preferred.
- Able to attain your P.Eng. designation in the province of BC
- Intimate knowledge of wood construction, structural hardware and design standards in Canada and the United States is an asset.
- Strong analytical skills and capable of simplifying complex technical concepts.
- Technically capable, excellent communicator, and a desire to improve process.
- Awareness of basic marketing and sales/account management concepts.
This position can be located in BC, AB, ON, and QB, with the potential for other locations across Canada and the USA with remote/hybrid work.
